Oxfordshire County Council administers first
tier local government functions across
Oxfordshire. It works in partnership with the Local SuDS requirements
second-tier local authorities:
■ Cherwell District Council
■ Oxford City Council
■ South Oxfordshire District Council
■ Vale of White Horse District Council and
■ West Oxfordshire District Council.
Oxfordshire County Council encourages all
new development and redevelopment that
requires planning permission to use SuDS in
order to reduce flood risk, improve water
quality and present options for biodiversity
and public amenity. This is consistent with 22
existing national guidance and local planning
policy as well the intended future direction of
the Flood and Water Management Act 2010.
Oxfordshire County Council publishes
additional guidance on our flood tool kit. The
Oxfordshire Flood Toolkit provides a “one-
stop-shop” for flooding information and
advice for homeowners, landowners,
businesses or communities? The site is
supported by Oxford City Council, South
Oxfordshire District Council, Vale of White
Horse District Council, West Oxfordshire
District Council and Thames Water.
