entertainment canceled. However, the family was already in route and the
food was already prepared, By the time we arrived the rain had ceased, the
Sun was shining, and all the guests had assembled to surprise her. This was
a great symbol of God's glory because this family hasn't been together in over
ten years!

Had I allowed myself to focus on the entertainment that got canceled, the
venue that we couldn't use, or the fact that it was raining I might not have
gotten her out of the house, and we might not have arrived, and the reunion
might not have happened.

And since her visit was a complete surprise to me to begin with there were
other tasks that didn't get done, but the fact that she was here was my
opportunity to not only honor her but keep God first in our lives so the others
can see that when you trust Him and allow Him to be the light of your world
He will be glorified.

I encourage you to give yourself some grace and be reminded of how
wonderful God truly is and how He gives you an opportunity every day to be
a light to others.

During this time of year, many people will be discouraged or preoccupied I
encourage you to extend yourself and offer words of encouragement and
hope but most importantly allow others to see that it is God's light that took
us out of darkness and gave us salvation through his son Jesus Christ and
that the same God and the same opportunity is still available today to those
around us and the people that they love.

Let the gift of salvation be the light that you share this holiday season. I pray
many blessings upon you and your family and wish you a very merry Christmas.
