as the colonists would have no muskets on hand. The
Indians were not known for surrendering so this was a
surprise.
While they were walking back, they murmured
about the defeat of the Indians and all of their
accomplishments. Captain Thomas knew they wanted to
yell but they didn't, even Al didn't yell. The colonists had
never felt such pride before and had never even
encountered Indians. It felt like a huge accomplishment
to them. As they were close to being there, they noticed
many of the colonists waiting for them, clapping their
hands. “I suppos’ the news of the surrender got back to
the colonists.” Al said. That's when something clicked in
Al’s head, he didn't want to be an alcoholic anymore, he
thought he was a hero (even though he had nothing to do
with the colonists victory.
