       A Love-ly


       Christmas

       December. Wind rattles the sash
       windows of the Old Building; darkness
       drops as the 3.15 bell sounds; coughs and
       sneezes; the spectre of looming Brexit
       and a General Election. There is light,
       too: those perfect moments of nativity
       imperfection, Christmas services in
       Greyfriars, uproarious House Drama, the
       final piece of work for the term submitted
       and marked, and, of course, the Senior
       School Usher Hall concert, appropriately
       titled A Love-ly Christmas.
