On reflection, December was the calm before a
storm that we knew only too well. But let us save
that for January.
I am searching for a word that is not ‘normal’
– and I am struggling, so I will use that wretched
word again: if ever there was ever a time that
Heriot’s sought be ‘normal’ it was in the days
before the start of the Christmas holiday. The
photos and stories that follow indicate that we
achieved that aspiration.
The school was awash with colour on Christmas
clothing day. S6A arranged the delivery of candy
canes to fellow pupils and staff, raising money for
Centre Point. Nativities were performed around
the school campus by the Nursery children, and
P1 and P2 pupils, respectively. House drama was
filmed in Castle Hall and viewed by all pupils on
the last day of term.
Musical items, some of them filmed in
Greyfriars Kirk, were also made widely available
to pupils and parents, as was a S6-produced
