What is an Acceptable Score
according to the USGA?
• Once 14 or more holes are played in an 18-hole round
• Once 7 or more holes are played in a 9-hole round
• Scores made in the company of at least one other
person
• If a hole is not played, record par plus any handicap
shots you would have received.
• If a hole is not completed, record what you most likely
would have made, up to your maximum score.
• Scores made in match play, stroke play and team
competitions
• Scores made if a player is disqualified from a
competition but has an acceptable score
• Scores made when played by the Rules of Golf
• Scores made when played on a course during its
active season
All acceptable scores are to be posted
within the same day of play using one
of the following methods:
• Score posting in the Golf Shop
• USGA GHIN Mobile app
• Turn in the scorecard to the Golf Shop staff
