COMMUNITY INFRASTRUCTURE PLAN / Community Infrastructure Pro le
A review of the ad-hoc bookings reveals GH o ers more exibility of use and has more availability than the other two facili es for ad-hoc bookings (generally one-o party bookings for a family or work group), which is re ected in the booking sta s cs; however the majority of me used for all facili es is by long-term users. Encouraging more long-term users would make ad-hoc bookings less likely, however it would result in more use overall, which would bene t the community.

Gray Hall
Council uses Gray Hall for ac vi es such as the 8-week Ac vate program, library wet season children’s ac vi es (KAT) and programs supported by Council that are delivered by external organisa ons, such as the community garden open day.
The NFP/Community Groups are mainly groups providing seniors with opportuni es for social inclusion, physical ac vity (line- dancing, bowls, ballroom dancing), mental ac vity (cra s, bingo, board games, card games, guest speakers) and fun (music, games, friendship,
club ac vi es). Two churches operate from the hall each weekend; o ering worship, ac vi es and outreach to the community, especially the socially disadvantaged.
Four of the businesses that entered into long- term leases, with an inten on of using Gray Hall for up to 12 months (with the op on to extend), have subsequently cancelled as they were not opera ng at pro t. The NFP/ Community groups are heavily subsidised so do not have the same nancial pressures to maintain numbers of par cipants. All are interested in maintaining their group’s viability so are happy to accept new members.
