D ear Valued Stakeholder,
We have reached the end of another eventful year, a second year under
the COVID-19 pandemic. Reflecting on the uncertainty that we have
experienced over the past two years, the challenges, moments of despair,
great sadness, we have seen a spirit of unrelenting hope. May this be the
spirit that we carry into the new year as we continue on our journey to
economic reconstruction and recovery.
Reflecting on the past 11 months, we are grateful for the support that
we have enjoyed from all our stakeholders in advancing the mandate
of the W&RSETA to skill the Wholesale and Retail Sector. We reflect on
the groundbreaking milestones and successes that we have achieved
collectively.
This issue of the newsletter reflects on these and other events, and we trust
that you will be as proud of our achievements as we are.
We concluded the main stakeholder engagement activities of the year with
the Annual General Meeting that was held on 11 November in Gqeberha
in the Eastern Cape. Stakeholders came out in their numbers to receive
a report on the W&RSETA’s performance for the 2020/21 financial year
and to hear about our strategic priorities for the ensuing year. We are
pleased with the turnout which truly demonstrated that our stakeholders
