My Experience as teacher:
As a part of ISA activity “Cycle Rally” out door activity
was organised in which students of std I and II actively
participated and enriched their knowledge about the
rules , signs to be followed on the road.
This activity was framed to promote the knowledge
on “Road Safe and Happy Transport”. The students
were provided with token number for the cycle rally
and were asked to wear helmet, knee pads and hand
gloves for the safety and also to learn the road safety
rules. The rally was flagged off by our correspondent.
Master. Vaibav of std 2 addressed the gathering. Sign
boards were placed through their way and children
were dressed up as traffic police of different countries
and took their position on the ground. The dressed up
children were organising and took over to control of
the traffic. The children were able to follow the road
signs and cycled safely. They understood cycle is eco
friendly vehicle. All the students were very familiar
about the sign boards which were placed all the way. A
quiz was conducted to test their knowledge and the
students were awarded with certificates. They were
given a chance to develop their skill and they
developed critical thinking.
Children easily identified and differentiated between
the sign boards and traffic rules. At the end of the rally
all then children enjoyed and developed their
knowledge about the sign boards and happy transport.
At the end of the activity all the cyclists refreshed
themselves by having a soft drink. The core theme of
the cycle rally was to bring the awareness among the
117
kids about Road safety and the knowledge of traffic
sign, sign boards and rules.
