Preface

In order to match my 80th birthday I decided to compile a paintings album but I think my paintings are
not good enough, then I added some essential elements in it. Became a combinations of pictures album
& autobiography. My paintings are the appetizers, not the main dishes. Any exaggerated words for my
paintings are beyond to my thinking.

We came back from Canada in NOV. 2004, and rented an apartment nearby our second daughter's
family. There was a painting class at the community center, It' s the first time I picked up a brush to draw
the paintings. The main courses were flowers & birds. After two years we moved to our own condo on
Taiwan Boulevard. There is a community college called Wen-Shan, it's nearby our home, then I took

some courses for two years, including Chinese paintings, Charcoal drawing, Pastel drawing & others.
Due to the students were less than the demand of the college, They stopped the class. I transferred to
the Grace Church to continue my paintings course for two years, too, because they closed all classes
for some reasons. Then a lot of our classmates engaged one of our teachers to conduct our drawings for

more than one year. Then one of my classmates promoted me to the Chao-Yang Technology University
to study Chinese paintings until now.
At the same times, I am studying flowers & birds drawings courses at Li-ming community Center.
During the recent 10 years, I followed Chang Tin-Ya, Liu Chung-Lung, Cheng Yun-Jui, Zheng Mei-Hui,

Chiu Zhing-Hsiang and Cheng Yu-Zhen to study my paintings skills for the Chinese paintings, flowers
and birds etc. In addition to study calligraphy with Hsu Sung-Sen. To improve my writing ability.
As I said, my paintings in this album are the appetizers, then the next chapters are the main dishes and
desserts.

At first, I' d like to say thank you for all of my teachers, They encouraged me for my paintings album,
They said something with flowers, or sent me their masterpieces for me. I appreciated their helps and
paid my respects to them. Next, I introduced my family background with some pictures, and the process
of my schooling. My career were the main chapters for me, it's one of the highlights in my life. I spent

36 years in my works, my retired life was another highlights for me too, I stayed in Vancouver for 8
years, and tripped to everywhere in the world, and recognized a lot of things and friends in the world.
At last, I selected Taiwan for my terminal stop in my life, and Taichung is one of my favor, because its
climate is the best in Taiwan, and has a real human interest, the general mood are simple and honest

more than in Taipei. Of course, the study environment is one of my choices.
Affinity is my logo for the album because everybody & everything in this album are related or connected
with me.
English was a second Language for me, a lot of mistakings may be happened in this Album, I' d like to

say forgive the wrongs I have done in the album.Thank You !
