My family schooling and training

I was born in a rural Village of Ku-Nimg-Tou, Kinmen in 1934, When I was in the age of
three, kinmen was occupied by Japanese Army for 8 years (1937ä1945). In order to collect
their money for the needs of military affairs, they enforced every farmer to plant poppies for
them. After harvesting, you must sent your products to the collected center. Otherwice, they

must be punished or put in jail.
The Japanese army continued to attack southern Asia, They enforced the youngmen and their
horses with them and carried their weapons, food & supplies. During these times there was
no any public school to study and no regular teachers to help us.

Kinmen was recovered from Japan on Oct, 3, 1945, but Kinmen became another region of
war, A lot of troops were retreated from mainland China, the total soldiers were more than
the local people, there were no supplies for them so that all trees were cut for fuel, and some
public buildings such as schools temples were torn down to build blockhouses, and a lot

of doors wore removed for their sleeping beds, it's a big disasters than before, most of our
teachers were sent in jail for nothing, but they were from China mainland.
In 1949, I graduated from primary school, and got the first grade of entrance examination,
into Kim-Chung Junior high school. And studied there for no more than two months. The

communist troops attacked kinmen on Oct, 24. 1949. My home town-Ku-Ning-Tou became
the region of war. lots of houses were destroyed, including our house. Then we moved to
Kinchung to live away from our own home. So that I was interrupted my schooling for a
season and became a little vendor along the street. Fortunatley the principal Hsu admitted to

reduce my tuitions, and my brother in-law agreed me to help them took care of the store after
school, and stayed on the second floor at night. During this times, a lot of students came from
China mainland, so that, a spring class was Opened for them, I became one of the spring
                            class students.
