Art is the voice of a city’s soul — it not only depicts the world but also continuously responds to the spirit
of the times. It arises from everyday life and is deeply rooted in each person’s observations and imagination of
living. Since its inception in 1999, the Taichung Contemporary Artists Invitational Exhibition has become an annual
highlight of Taichung’s art scene and an important platform for artists to create and share their work.
In 2025, a total of 362 artists have come together to participate, including 31 “perfect attendance artists” who
have never missed the exhibition since its very first edition. The oldest participant is the 92-year-old gouache
artist Ms. Lin, Xing-Hua, who continues to paint tirelessly. The youngest is Mr. Chen Mingying, born in the 2000s,
who won Second Place in watercolor at the Da Dun Fine Arts Exhibition of Taichung City. Artists from three

demonstrating the continuity and inheritance of artistic life.

ink painting, water-color painting, printmaking, seal engraving, crafts, mixed media, three-dimensional installations,
photography, video, and digital art. These diverse forms showcase artists’ flexible use of materials and reflect
their rich perspectives and thinking when confronting society, the environment, and personal experience. Whether
