Guidelines for the 2024 Taichung City
Exhibition of Contemporary Artists
I. Purpose: To encourage artistic creation by artists in Taichung, enrich and diversify contemporary aesthetics,
cultivate the city’s artistic energy, invite local artists to participate in the exhibition, and present and record the
diverse styles and development trends of the city’s contemporary art.
II. Organizer: Cultural Affairs Bureau, Taichung City (Dadun Cultural Center)
III. Time of Exhibition: August 11 (Sun) to 28 (Wed), 2024
IV. Venue of Exhibition: Da Dun Gallery 1-3, 5-7, Taichung City Dadun Cultural Center
V. Participation Qualification: (First time participants, please attach photocopied award certificates or related
proof documents)
i. Artists must be registered residents of Taichung City who:
1. Participants must meet the following qualifications: being a top-three winner of the National Art Exhibition
R.O.C., the National Civil Officers Art Exhibition, the Taipei Art Awards, the Kaohsiung Award, the
Nanying Award, the Taiwan Craft Award (formerly known as the Taiwan Crafts Competition), the Taiwan
Ceramics Biennale, or a recipient of the National Awards for Arts/National Crafts Achievement Awards.
2. Participants must meet the following qualifications: being a top-three winner of the Da Dun Fine Arts
Exhibition of Taichung City, the National Large-sized Oil Paintings Exhibition, or the Taiwan Emerging Art
Awards; being a local artist awarded the title of Senior Outstanding Artist, Dadun Craftsmen, or Taichung
City Craftsman; or having participated in the Art Inheritance Taichung Artist’s Relay Exhibition.
3. Participant must serve as a judge for national-level official art competitions.
ii. Artists who are currently instructors of the rank of assistant professor or higher in art departments in
universities or colleges in Taichung City, and who have had solo exhibitions at cultural affairs bureau or
government-funded exhibition spaces in Taiwan at least once.
