Honoring Veterans Day
Veterans Day is a time for us to pay our respects to those who have served. Some experts recommend
avoiding the phrase “Happy Veterans Day” as you never really know the experience behind someone’s
time or path to service. Instead, consider varying the intended compliment based on the individual.
Some examples are “Thank you for your willingness to serve,” “Welcome home,” or “Thank you for your
sacrifice.” Ultimately, it’s best to acknowledge someone’s service regardless of a veteran’s era of service,
branch of service, active or non-active status or deployment area of operation. Source: USA Today.
