                       An environment of psychological safety is one where employees are comfortable being
                       themselves. They know they can express themselves freely without the fear of embarrassment or
                       retaliation. When employees are confident their ideas won’t be rejected out of hand or scoffed at,
                       they’re far more likely to participate in meaningful conversations, voice their opinions, and stay
                       engaged. While physical space is important, psychological space is equally critical.

        Making it work: Job accommodations

        Face-to-face leaders, managers, and supervisors are very likely to be “first responders”
        to accommodation requests and set the tone for disability inclusiveness in the
        workplace.
        What is an accommodation?
        Accommodations refers to any change in the work environment or in the way
        things are customarily done that enables an individual with a disability to enjoy
        equal employment opportunities. We must provide reasonable accommodations to
        applicants and employees with psychiatric disabilities (and other disabilities) unless
        this causes undue hardship.
