JAMES      FOY,    JR  purchased a second       plantation    in  1795 from    the  estate of
               FRANCES CLAYTON..  This plantation was named THE POPULAR GROVE
               PLANTATION. It was originally in New Hanover County which is now named
               Pender County, North Carolina.


               That same plantation was more recently owned by the family of JAMES FOY,
               JR’s great grandson, ROBERT LEE FOY.  ROBERT LEE FOY was the son of
               HENRY SIMMONS FOY,  the son of JOSEPH MUMFORD FOY, the son of
               JAMES FOY, JR.  The plantation was part of the property left to JOSEPH in
               JAMES FOY, JR’s will dated March 10, 1823 which follows:

               WILL OF JAMES FOY, JR:



                       “In the name of God, amen:


                       I, James Foy, of the state of North Carolina and county of New Hanover,
                       being weak of body, but sound of mind and memory blessed be God; do this
                       tenth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred &
                       twenty three, make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner
                       following;


                       Calling to mind mortality, I commit my soul into the hands of Almighty God
                       who gave it to me, to be raised in the general resurrection to life through the
                       blood and crucifixion of Jesus Christ; my body to the ground to be buried in
                       a decent and Christian manner.  And what goods it hath pleased God to bless
                       me with in this life, I desire to dispose of in manner and form following, to
                       wit, First of all that all my just debts be paid.


                       Item: I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife, Henrietta Foy, five negroes,
                       viz,  Tom and Sarah, his wife, Tom, his son and Sarah, their daughter, and
                       a girl by the name Hannah, my chair and chair horse and harness, one bed
                       and furniture.    I also lend her one half of my plantation or cleared land
                       where I now live, during her life time.  I also lend my dear beloved wife two
                       other negroes, namely, Joseph and Jacob her life time.  I also give to my wife
                       six silver table and six silver tea spoons.
