European and Italian Champion Fabrizio Tabaton would take TO 82978F to the 1988 El Corte Ingles but luck would be against him ending in another DNF.
A young Finn named Tommi Makinen would also get behind the wheel of the car for the 1989 Swedish Rally. Makinen would of course go on to become a four-time world champion with Mitsubishi.
Popular Italian and former World Junior Karting Champion, Romeo Deila, would extensively use the car, winning the 1989 editions of Cinzano, Citta di Stradella and Citta di Sassari.
in 1990 the car was sold to a private collector in Italy who kept the car until Miki Biasion bought the car in 2019.
