  Acropolis Rally 31st May - 3rd June 1987
TO 82978F was built by Abarth and first registered on the 15th May 1987 ahead of its first outing, the Acropolis Rally. Renowned for its rough rocky roads, the event was based in the greek capital, Athens. Lancia entered four cars, one for Markku Alen, another for reining World Champion, Juha Kankkunen, home grown hero Massimo 'Miki' Biasion and finally one for the Swede, Mikael Ericsson. TO 82978F was provided for the up and coming young star, Biasion.
From the outset, the two cars of Alen and Kankkunen would take control of Sunday's opening spectator stage. From Monday morning this would all change, Biasion would take charge on the morning stages and took the lead from Kankkunen on stage four. Biasion would go on to win six stages and hold off Kankkunen's attack.
After a dominant lead, which Miki held for two days on the roughest event on the calendar, it would all fall apart for Biasion. A broken turbo halfway through the last day would see him lose the lead. Further damage would be occurred on the road section with Biasion and Siviero arriving 15 minutes late at the time control. They would limp home to 7th overall while teammate Alen would go on to take victory.
