12. The Winding Stairs represent Human Life. Each of the steps, 3, 5, and 7,
are representative of the specific instructions by which a Fellowcraft is to
climb if he hopes to be successful in life.
13. The Three Steps represent the three precious jewels of a Fellowcraft, the
three steps in Freemasonry and the three principal stages of human life.
14. The seven arts and sciences are Grammar, Rhetoric, Logic, Arithmetic,
Geometry, Astronomy and Music.
15. The letter "G" is suspended in the East, the initial of Geometry, and the
basis of Freemasonry, and couples as the symbol of the Great Architect of the
Universe.
