Today, bitcoin is still facing scalability issues. Many
entities are proposing solutions to Bitcoin scalability
issues. One of such solutions is the lightning
network. Many people have prophesied that a
solution to solve Bitcoin scaling issues could come
from the EOS.IO ecosystem.

In 2014, Dan Larimer had another epic debate but
this time with another cryptocurrency genius named
Vitalik Buterin who made phenomenal contributions
to the blockchain industry by creating Ethereum.
Ethereum is the first blockchain platform for
decentralized applications. The debate was more of a
grilling session, with Vitalik being put on the hot
spot. Dan’s questions were about the Ethereum’s
consensus algorithm, decentralization, management
ability, resources and costs, etc.. Vitalik stuttered his
way through the questioning and managed to utter a
few responses.

The Ethereum network currently has plans to change
its consensus algorithm to Proof of Stake (POS).
This issue was also raised by Dan long before it
became obvious. Dan Larimer clearly has great
