                                     Philippines Takes Part in Le Salon Du Café / Thé

           The Philippines, through the Mountain Province
Espresso Bar, along with 12 other countries, participated in
the Le Salon Du Café / Thé, a coffee/tea tasting fair at the
United Nations headquarters in New York on 18 May 2017.

           The Philippine Consulate General in New York
invited Mountain Province Espresso Bar to participate in the
fair to give them added exposure and to be able to assist in
efforts to introduce Philippine coffee brands to the
international audience.

Mountain Province Espresso Bar is a Filipino owned and
Philippine-inspired coffee shop located in Brooklyn, New
York, which specializes in organic coffee imported from
small growers in the Philippines, particularly from Benguet.
During the fair, guests were offered several coffee blends
and were also able to sample Philippine baked treats such
as cassava cakes, coconut muffins and pineapple scones. The Mountain Province Espresso Bar owner Ray Luna (2nd from Right) and his crew.

           The Mountain Province booth attracted about 120
guests at the fair, including members of the diplomatic corps, country delegations attending
the UN meetings, and media practitioners.

           The fair was sponsored by the Arab Ladies at the United Nations (ALUN) and the
United Nations Correspondents Association (UNCA). Personnel from the Philippine
Consulate General and the Philippine Mission to the U.N., led by Deputy Consul General
Felipe F. Cariño III attended the event and assisted Mountain Province Espresso Bar
during the fair.

                                                                    showcased food products such as health drinks, seafood, coconut-

                                                                    based/-derivative products, canned food, preserved fruits snacks and
                                                                    puree, organic food and calamansi, that exhibit our product’s
                                                                    versatility and uniqueness as well as our manufacturers’/ exporters
                                                                    readiness to deliver high quality-products to mature markets.

                                                                               This year, San Miguel and its US partner JCI Inc., are
                                                                    introducing their products in the East Coast while West Coast-based
                                                                    Profoods spearheaded the country’s campaign to dominate the US
                                                                    snack food and dried goods category. Sun Tropics and Mansi were
                                                                    among Philippine participants who welcomed inquiries at their booth
                                                                    and reported significant levels of public interest in their display during
                                                                    the event.
