Masculine (adj): having characteristics that are traditionally thought to be typical of or suitable for men.
Feminine (adj): having characteristics that are traditionally thought to be typical of or suitable for a woman.
Appearance (n): the way a person or thing looks or seems to other people.
Gaze (v): to look at something or someone for a long time, especially in surprise or admiration, or because you are
thinking about something else.
Remark (v): to give a spoken statement of an opinion or thought.
Irritation (n): the feeling of being angry or annoyed, or something that makes you feel like this.
Pitch (n): an area painted with lines for playing particular sports, especially football.
Promptly (adv): quickly, without delay, or at the arranged time.
Crunch (v): to crush hard food loudly between the teeth, or to make a sound as if something is being crushed or broken.
Desire (v): to want something, especially strongly.
Verge (n): the edge or border of something.
Anguish (n): extreme unhappiness caused by physical or mental suffering.
Mock (v): to laugh at someone, often by copying them in a funny but unkind way.
Appropriate (adj): suitable or right for a particular situation or occasion.
Grumble (v): to complain about someone or something in an annoyed way.
Fearful (adj): frightened or worried about something.
Burden (v): to trouble someone with something difficult or unpleasant.
Abruptly (adv): in a sudden, unexpected, and sometimes unpleasant way.
Startled (adj): surprised and slightly frightened.
Humiliated (adj): If someone is humiliated, they have been made to feel ashamed or stupid.
