• Year 9 is when you get to know the sciences close up and personal. We begin our more detailed

look at Physics by understanding how electricity is so important to our modern world as we look
at how it was discovered and how it works. This prepares us to begin our GCSE course later in the

year as we look at how electricity demand is changing the world and we look at ways to meet

demand sustainably. In the final part of Year 9 we’ll learn how our communication devices
actually work, looking at how to send radio signals and the nature of light.
