The Prayer Mantle
[26] O give thanks unto the God of heaven: for his mercy
endureth for ever
SCRIPTURE IN FOCUS Acts 16:23-26 KJV
[23] And when they had laid many stripes upon them,
they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep
them safely:
[24] Who, having received such a charge, thrust them
into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in
the stocks.
[25] And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang
praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
[26] And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that
the foundations of the prison were shaken: and
immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's
bands were loosed.
SCRIPTURE EXPOSITION
Paul and Silas; the apostles of God were arrested and
thrown into prison for preaching the gospel. A jailor was
mandated to monitor them. Whilst in prison, they refused
to be silent or condemn God. However, as they prayed and
sang praises to God, something extra-ordinary happened.
There was an earthquake and their prison doors and
chains were loosed. Praise God!!! In your anguish and
hard times, do not let your praise cease. Do not lose your
praise. It is only your praise and prayer that can bring your
total liberation. If you remain quiet, the enemy will forever
keep you in prison.
