The Prayer Mantle
[35] O God, thou art terrible out of thy holy places: the
God of Israel is he that giveth strength and power unto
his people. Blessed be God.
SCRIPTURE IN FOCUS Habakkuk 3:19 KJV
[19] The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my
feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon
mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed
instruments.
SCRIPTURE EXPOSITION
The hind or the deer is one of the fastest animals on the
planet. Living in and around Jerusalem, Habakkuk would
have seen hinds on the hillsides of that mountainous area.
Hinds are female red deer; they have no antlers for
protection and weigh about half as much as a male red
deer. Therefore the only skill the hind could depend on to
escape predators was her surefootedness - her feet. When
chased by a predator, a hind could escape to safety as fast
as possible up the rocky slopes where other animals would
slip and stumble. This From the scriptures, the prophet
Habakkuk likens the speed God will give him to that of one
of the fastest animals on earth. It is the will of God for us to
run with speed in life. It is not the will of God for you to be
delayed in your achievements. The promises in God's
word are for us. Claim them for yourself and declare it in
prayer. God will make your feet like the hind's feet. With
God behind you, you will outrun your enemies and escape
into safety. Claim that in Jesus name.
