Once upon a war The Naval Flag returned
A Civil War Resurrected
There were flags Rising from the sea
Many flags Of White pain and Black freedom
Before the before Deconstructed Reconstruction
There was A KKK One
A Blue One A Birth of Nation One
With One star For Segregation
One with the Stars and Bars For White Pride
The First National One For Southern Heritage
And then the rejected One, Buried in state flags
That became the Naval One South of the Dixie line
That became General Lee’s square Flying on Capitol Grounds
battle One South of North Carolina
Mapped into an almost all Hanging high
White surrendering One A recolored One
The Second National One In an Art Space
Then with a red stripe on the South of Houston
end For a Remembering of Cries of Color
The third and final One And a Flag of Treason and Terror
Then came many lost battles
Then a lost War And before this flag
Then the union, a reunification There were many
Lost in a Committee
Lost on the road to defeat
Lost in the imagination of southern
swamps
Of flat Stars,
Of black Blues,
Bloody Reds
15 And washed out Whites
