               Pittsburgh who have severe paralysis.
               Centrod allows patients to control digital devices just by thinking. The implant also restores their
               ability to perform daily tasks such as texting, emailing and shopping online.

               Although the implant has already been implanted and tested in the brains of Australian patients,
               this new clinical trial is the first to be performed in the United States. This clinical trial, called
               "Command," will be performed under the auspices of the US Food and Drug Administration
               (FDA).

               If successful, Centrod brain implants can be marketed as a commercial product for the treatment
               of paralyzed patients so that they can regain their independence and quality of life.
               Syncron seems to be moving faster than its rival in the field, Elon Mask's.

               "Command is pushing the development of this technology through the feasibility phase, and
               we're getting ready for our main test," said Tom Oxley, CEO and founder of Synchron. This
               brain-computer interface experiment is a major turning point for the whole field as we advance
               our solution to the five million people in the United States who suffer from paralysis.

               Axley declined to name a patient or provide details.
               The company said the New York patients will be housed at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan;

               Pittsburgh patients will be at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC).
               The interface between the centrode brain and the computer consists of a framework made of a
               flexible alloy called nitinol. The frame is filled with electrodes that can record neural signals to
