DEFINITION OF HEALTH EDUCATION
WHO DEFINED HEALTH EDUCATION AS COMPRISING OF CONSCIOUSLY
CONSTRUCTED OPPORTUNITIES FOR LEARNING INVOLVING SOME FORM OF
COMMUNICATION DESIGNED TO IMPROVE HEALTH LITERACY , INCLUDING IMPROVING
KNOWLEDGE AND DEVELOPING LIFE SKILLS WHICH ARE CONDUCTIVE TO INDIVIDUAL
AND COMMUNITY HEALTH .
AIMS OF HEALTH EDUCATION
1-TO HELP PARENTS UNDERSTAND THAT HEALTH IS AN ASSET IN THE COMMUNITY.
2-INSPIRING PARENTS TO ADOPT HEALTH-PROMOTING BEHAVIORS BY PROVIDING APPROPRIATE HEALTH
CONSCIOUSNESS AND KNOWLEDGE HELPING THEM TO
DEVELOP POSITIVE ATTITUDE.
3-SUPPORTING PARENTS TO MAKE DECISIONS ABOUT THEIR HEALTH AND ACHIEVE THE
NECESSARY CONFIDENCE AND SKILLS TO PUT THEIR DECISIONS INTO PRACTICE.
4-TO PROVIDE A HEALTHFUL ENVIRONMENT FOR THE FUTURE GENERATIONS .
