A JADEITE TRIPOD CENSER AND COVER 清 翡翠獅耳銜環三足爐
QING DYNASTY (1644-1911)
The compressed globular censer is raised on three cabriole legs
emerging from lion-form masks, the sides are flanked by a pair
of lion-mask form handles suspending loose rings. The cover is
surmounted by a finial carved as openwork peonies. The semi-
translucent stone is of a mottled apple-green tone with some orange-
russet inclusions incorporated into swirling clouds.
