This collection was assembled by a surgeon
in Birmingham, Alabama who spent time in
Korea as an offcer in the United States Navy.
He was a member of the Birmingham Asian
Art Society, which formed in 1979 to support
the museum’s acquisitions and educational
programs. Members of this group also
collected paintings under the advice of the
eminent scholars and curators Sherman Lee
and Lucy Lim.

此珍藏由阿拉巴馬州伯明翰外科醫生收集，
他曾以美國海軍官員的身份在韓國駐留。他
是伯明翰亞洲藝術協會的成員之一。伯明罕
亞洲藝術協會成立於1979年，以支持博物館
收購和教育計劃為宗旨 。協會成員在著名
學者以及策展人李雪曼和李露林的建議下
收藏書畫。
