Born in Xixian, Henan province,
Howard HS Chao (1920-2012) was a
well known journalist in China and
Japan. After he moved to the United
States in 1952, taught Chinese at
Yale University and authored several
books and a syndicated news column.
Professor Chao’s keen interest in
paintings and calligraphy inspired
him to befriend artists and collect
their works when he met them in the
U.S. or during his travels to China.
趙浩生(1920-2012),生於河南省
息縣。是一位著名的記者,1952年移
居美國之後,曾任教于耶魯大學中文
部。 趙教授對中國書畫的濃厚興趣
使他在中美兩地結識了許多藝術家,
並收藏了他們的作品。
