746 A SMALL FAMILLE ROSE AND GILT- A related square brush pot with landscapes surrounded by
DECORATED SQUARE BRUSH POT foliate scrolls, also with a Qianlong mark on a turquoise-
enameled base, from the collection of Mr. Reginald Cory,

The brush pot is decorated on each side with a scene depicting 清乾隆 粉彩加金彩人物故事圖方筆筒 礬
a scholar, variously shown in landscapes with an attendant, 紅單方框四字篆書款
dancing in a garden or at his desk. Each scene is surrounded by
an underglaze blue scrolling border highlighted with gold, and
the interior and underside are covered with turquoise enamel.
