with the head of a praying mantis forming the hook and
a cicada on the shaft; together with a white jade snuff
bottle carved as a recumbent Buddhist lion, late Qing
dynasty/Republican period

the ruyi-shaped terminal carved in low relief with a
scholar and his attendant amidst a rocky landscape,
detailed with a gnarled pine tree and crane in flight, the
arched shaft similarly decorated, the back incised with
jagged rocks, the end carved with loop suspending a
rectangular plaque, the polished stone of an even pale
celadon tone
