          A RARE PAIR OF FAMILLE ROSE ‘PARROT’ BOXES AND COVERS
          LATE QING DYNASTY-EARLY REPUBLIC PERIOD
          The boxes are decorated in mirror image with a parrot perched on a bamboo stalk growing
          beside a chrysanthemum stem bearing yellow, pink and blue blossoms. The sides of the cover
          and box are covered in a peach-coloured enamel glaze decorated with gilt foliate medallions,
          and with gilt key-fret bands at the rims. The bases are inscribed with four-character
          fushou ruyi marks ‘May you have a long life with all wishes come true’ in iron-red within
          double squares.
