Hotei (in Chinese Budai), dressed only in
a loincloth, his features well-worn. The
backside shows a stunning glossy honey
patina and the himotoshi are deep and
appropriately worn.

An amusing, early ivory
Faithfully modelled after a Bizen-ceramic netsuke of triangular shape
