MING DYNASTY, 17TH CENTURY
the arched crest rail comprised of five segments ending in
outward scrolling hand grips, the back post flanking a curved
central splat, the seat frame of mitre, mortise and tenon
construction supported with humpback-shaped transverse
stretchers underneath with pillar-shaped struts joining the
legs below the seat frame, above oval stretchers with flattened
undersides joining the side and back legs and a shaped
footrest at the front atop an apron
