A BLUE AND WHITE ‘DRAGON AND PHOENIX’ JAR
18TH CENTURY
The vase is decorated to the exterior in a simulated ‘heaping and piling’ efect
with a wide band of stylised three-clawed dragons and phoenix in fight
intertwined with meandering lotus fower scrolls, all between a ruyi-head band
to the shoulder and a lappet band to the foot.
