A CELADON JADE ‘CHILONG AND PEACH’ BRUSH WASHER
17TH-18TH CENTURY
The vessel is fnely and smoothly carved as a large well-hollowed peach
on a gnarled leafy openwork stem which embraces the side of the vessel
and forms the foot. A sinuous chilong is carved clambering along the side
of the washer. The stone is of an even celadon tone with a few cloudy
white and pale russet inclusions.
