A CELADON AND RUSSET JADE ‘PHOENIX AND PINE’ VASE
GROUP
QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)
The fattened vase and cover is carved with a pair of angular handles to the
neck and shoulders and a keyfret band to the rim and foot, all beside a small
open vase carved as a pine tree trunk with delicate openwork branches
accompanied by a phoenix. The stone is of a celadon tone with russet veins.
