⢓ mountainous landscape, a scholar and his attendant walking
⚾ along a stony path amidst a gnarled pine tree and leafy shrubs,
Ⱉ the reverse similarly carved with jagged rockwork and a lone
⫸ pine, the stone a bright apple-green with diagonal veins of
emerald and russet, wood stand (2)

Worked in varying depths of relief, the artisan has skillfully
incorporated the natural Þ ssures and characteristics of the stone
to enhance the jagged, craggy appearance of the mountains. The
present boulder is also an excellent example of vibrant green
jade, with its bright apple-green and rich emerald tones. For
