348 A copper alloy netsuke of a Fushimi ningyo.
19th century
Standing pot-bellied with a Chinese-style stiff fan,
holding the cord of his bag placed beside him. Cast
in two parts. Gilding to the fan and bag.
Hotei clay figurines (tsuchi ningyo) were regional
souvenirs of the Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto.

openwork lid, an amaryû and a gourd in relief to the
outside, b) a bronze head of a karasu tengu, bronze,

349 351 A large peg-manjû of a rakan, by Moritoshi.
Second half 19th century
Carved in sunken relief with the large figure of
Handaka Sonja, his head surrounded by a halo,
eye to eye with a large winding dragon.
Signed Moritoshi and his crane seal.
