A SMALL PALE GREENISH-WHITE JADE FIGURE OF A
MANDARIN DUCK
18TH CENTURY
The fgure is well carved as a mandarin duck with backward-turned head
grasping the stem of the lotus leaf on which it sits as well as the stem of a lotus
fower carved to one side and other slender water weeds in its beak. There are
some small areas of opaque white mottling in the pale greenish-white stone.

Acquired in Hong Kong, 1950s, and thence by descent within the family.
