A BROWNISH BLACK-GLAZED RIBBED JAR
northern sONG-JIN DYNASTY (960-1234)
The jar is sturdily potted with a globular body and applied with slender
vertical ribs to the sides. It is set with a pair of ribbed strap handles
spanning the short neck that rises to the everted rim. It is covered
overall with a lustrous brownish-black glaze that falls in an irregular
line atop a thinner brown slip ground just above the foot.
