Art and culture flourished in China during the Ming Dynasty. In the mid-Ming in Jiangnan, the prosperous
region south of the Yangtze River, cultural life thrived: erudite scholars, poets, artists and collectors often gathered
in celebration of art.The literati drew inspiration from the rich tradition of painting and literature to create many
masterpieces, some of which we can still enjoy the opportunity to view today.
Works by master artists hailing from Suzhou such as Shen Zhou, Zhu Yunming and You Qiu, through myriad
subject-matters – from flowers, calligraphy, figures to landscape – demonstrate their refined technique and
superior brushwork.
Chen Hongshou and Lan Ying were both born in Zhejiang, in the Jiangnan area. Chen was extraordinary in his
creativity – painting vividly coloured flowers and birds as well as figures.
With regards to calligraphy, Zhu Yunming from Suzhou, Wang Shouren from Zhejiang, Mi Wanzhong from
Beijing, and Zhang Ruitu from Fujian, are all representative figures.Their different styles of running and cursive
scripts compellingly encapsulate the unique literati sensibilities of the Ming period.
佳士得很榮幸將於11月27日舉行《御苑．文心．匠藝 - 明代器物書畫晚間拍賣》，呈現數件書畫杰構，展現
明代高度繁榮的藝術景象。
明朝是文學和書畫藝術最豐富的朝代，尤其明中時期，江南地區經濟富庶，文化藝術得以高度發展。文人讀
書萬卷，用於詩畫，經常聚會品鑑作品，在當時濃厚的文化氛圍裡，創作了主題多樣化的作品，大量佳品流
傳下來。
這次專拍，包括沈周、祝允明、尤求等名家，都是江蘇蘇州人，作品有花卉、書法、人物、山水，充分顯示
了江蘇地域孕育的傑出人才。
陳洪綬和藍瑛，浙江人，也是出身江南地區的畫家。陳洪綬個性強烈，富創作力，從小習人物畫，建立堅實
的技法根基，花鳥畫色彩亮麗。沈周《四時花卉》和陳洪綬《花卉》兩卷，出自佳士得2002年秋拍，並出版
在香港佳士得二十週年精選作品集，是值得關注的重要藝術品。
書法方面，蘇州祝允明、浙江王守仁、北京米萬鍾、福建張瑞
圖，都是明朝書法家代表人物，他們展示了行草書不同類
型的法道，讓我們看到各家的特點個性，而墨氣跟筆氣皆
散發出明代文人的特殊氣質。
