Master of the Treasuring Three Lotuses Dwelling was born in Suzhou and raised in 1507
Shanghai. She studied acupuncture under Fei Zibin (1890-1981) and is well-educated in
Chinese opera and traditional Chinese medicine, and was invited by Panorama Magazine’s HUANG JUNBI (1898-1991)
chief editor Shen Weichuang to write for the magazine.Through these connections, she Cloudy Mountain
befriended Zhang Daqian.When Shen wanted to give Pink Lotus (Lot 1512) to her and Scroll, mounted and framed, ink and colour on paper
asked the artist, Zhang happily agreed and reminisced that he painted another Red Lotus 29 x 60 cm. (11 ¡ x 23 ¬ in.)
(Lot 1509) in 1976. Zhang ultimately decided to paint one more lotus painting for her Inscribed and signed, with three seals of the artist
gifted her a new studio name “Treasuring Three Lotuses Dwelling”, demonstrating their Dated winter, xinhai year (1971)
wonderful friendship.
LITERATURE:
寶三荷居主人，生於蘇州，長於上海，曾隨費子彬醫師（1890-1981）學習針灸。
因其對戲曲、醫學等學問都頗有研究，《大成》雜誌總編輯沈葦窗力邀為雜誌撰寫 Nan Zhen Ji, Panorama Publishing House, 1991, p. xxii.
「天南地北」和「笑語大成」專欄。吳氏更因諸位良師益友介紹認識張大千，並與
大千先生結緣。沈葦窗當時將大千先生所贈工筆粉荷（拍品編號1512）轉贈女史並 HK$100,000-200,000 US$13,000-26,000
向先生請示，大千先生回憶起1976年曾為她畫了一幅荷花（拍品編號1509），決定
再多畫一幅，正好代表他三個不同時期的畫荷風貌，並為她起齋名「寶三荷居」， 黃君璧 雲山 設色紙本 鏡框 一九七一年作
足見二人友誼。 題識：辛亥（1971年）冬於白雲堂，黃君璧。
