In 1982, to promote Chinese arts and culture, the FROM AN OVERSEAS CHINESE COLLECTION 海外華僑私人收藏
current owner’s family organised an exhibition of (LOTS 1556-1559)
modern Chinese paintings in Canada with the help
of the Chinese government. With the participation 1556
of over 50 Chinese painters, the exhibition was
held across Canada (Vancouver, Edmonton,Toronto LOU SHIBAI (1918-2010)
and Ottawa). These paintings were also featured
in the exhibition and have been with the family Wisteria
since. Three paintings from this collection are also
available in Christie’s online sale, Exquisite Eye: Hanging scroll, ink and colour on paper
