           From a young age, Louis Leconte (1880-1970) was
           interested in history, particularly in the military
           history of his home country, Belgium. Keen to
           share his interests with a wider audience, he was
           the author of several important works on Belgian
           military history. He was also interested in Chinese
           art and collected Buddhist sculpture, among them
