This figure depicts Amoghapasha, Lord of the Unerring Noose,
one of the popular interpretations in the Kathmandu Valley of
the Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara. Compare a copper figure of
Amoghapasha sold in our New York rooms, 17th March 2015,
lot 1048; and a larger example with stone inlays, attributed to
the early Malla period, included in the exhibition Buddha-2000
