                           Bronze yan  steamer                          Among vessels in the  Dayangzhou find, only this
                                                                        four-legged  steamer  (yan) 1  surpasses  the  large
                           Height  105 (41 y*), diam. 61.2 (24 Vs),

                           weight  78.5  (172 A)                        fangding  in height  and  weight. It too  was placed
                                                                        near the  coffin,  and  like the  fangding  was removed
                           Transitional Period  (c. 1400-1200 BCE)
                                                                        by peasants  before proper excavation began. Both
                           From Dayangzhou, Xin'gan, Jiangxi Province
                                                                        of these vessels would have towered  over other

                                                                        tomb chamber. Both were made to appear  thickly
