Of cylindrical shape, delicately carved in the shape
of a blossoming flower with overlapping petals
carved around the exterior with sinuous clambering
chilong with bifurcated tails flanking sprigs of lingzhi,
peaches and various flowers, the wood of reddish-
brown tone.

A ZITAN ‘CAMELLIA’ BRUSHPOT, BITONG
19th century
The cylindrical sides naturalistically carved in relief
with a continuous scene of blooming and budding
camellias, curling branches and leafy sprigs, the rim
lobed simulating furled petals, the wood a deep rich
dark brown colour.
